Role Description:
As an Entry-Level IT Support Specialist, you will be the first point of contact for IT support, handling a range of tasks to ensure smooth operation of our technology systems. Your responsibilities will include password resets, PC setup, software support, and computer technician duties. Additionally, you will have the chance to learn about networking, cybersecurity, and IT governance specific to the banking industry. Flexibility and a willingness to take on additional duties as needed will be key to your success in this role. This is a non-exempt, full-time position.
Key Responsibilities:
- First-Line Helpdesk Support: Serve as the initial point of contact for IT-related issues. Provide timely and effective troubleshooting for hardware, software, and network problems.
- Password Resets: Manage and execute password reset requests, ensuring compliance with security protocols and procedures.
- PC Setup and Configuration: Assist with the setup, installation, and configuration of new PCs, laptops, and peripherals. Ensure systems are fully operational and properly connected.
- Software Support: Provide support for various software applications, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting to resolve user issues.
- Computer Technician Duties: Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on computer hardware. Diagnose and resolve hardware-related issues.
- Small Script Writing: Develop and maintain simple scripts to automate routine tasks and enhance operational efficiency.
- Learning and Development: Gain exposure to and understanding of networking, cybersecurity, and IT governance as applied in a banking context. Participate in training sessions and development opportunities.
- Additional Duties: Perform other IT-related tasks and responsibilities as assigned to support the overall function of the IT department.
Job Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. A college degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience in an IT support role is a plus but not required. Relevant internships or coursework will be considered.
- Technical Skills: Basic knowledge of computer hardware, software applications, and operating systems. Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) is beneficial.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively convey technical information to non-technical users.
- Problem-Solving Abilities: Excellent troubleshooting skills with attention to detail. Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Eagerness to Learn: Interest in expanding knowledge in networking, cybersecurity, and IT governance within a banking environment.
